The Saco River is one of New Hampshire's
gems. It originates at the top of New England on Mount Washington, elevation
6288'. As run-off comes down the mountain, it fills Saco Lake, a small
body of water in Crawford Notch. It flows mostly east from there for
125 miles and eventually empties into the Atlantic ocean below Saco,
Maine. |
