Canoeing the Saco River
Do you like to paddle? Explore the lakes and rivers of New Hampshire by canoe or kayak. There are outfitters just a few miles away who specialize in canoe and kayak rentals. Check with us in the campground office for details.

The Saco River is one of New Hampshire's gems. It originates at the top of New England on Mount Washington, elevation 6288'. As run-off comes down the mountain, it fills Saco Lake, a small body of water in Crawford Notch. It flows mostly east from there for 125 miles and eventually empties into the Atlantic ocean below Saco, Maine.
